House Rules
Obtaining illegal weaponry requires sufficient Resources and at least Underworld Influence 2
Combat, Staking, Character Death
These types of scenes can be run with out a Storyteller present so long as ALL players involved agree to it. If any players involved in the scene asks for a Storyteller, even after previously agreeing for none, all action needs to be stopped and paused until the Storyteller arrives to moderate scene. With or with out a Storyteller present all of these scenes MUST be screenshot for proof to the storytellers in case of a dispute later on.
Changing Sects
Characters may be allowed to change sects, but will do so with the understanding that In-Character consequences will follow and may not be avoided. After all you are deserting your previous sect and that never is taken lightly In-Character. There will need to be a good In-Character justification for the change. Which means that “I want to be in the other sect” is NOT a good enough justification.
In-Character Ghouling
To ghoul In-Character the ghoul’s player must consent or the ghouling will be nulled.
The Domitor’s player must buy the retainer background at the appropriate level. The Ghoul’s player is not required to pay any XP for the ghouling.
One full blood point is required to ghoul a character, which means that a sip of vitae in a drink does not qualify. The entire drink must have one blood point in it and be entirely consumed.
Ghouling of kinfolk, thralls, sorcerors, and kinain are highly discouraged. Doing this can, and will have serious and dire consequences In-Character for both characters. Players doing this must be prepared for a hard road, you have been warned.
Ghouling of Awakened Mages and Fae will not be accepted In-Character.
We will be using the Optional Maximum Discipline Level rule for ghouls.
Diablerie
A Storyteller is required to be present for a diablerie scene to witness the rolls, otherwise the scene will be nulled. If successful, the vampire’s generation will be lowered by one generation, but no disciplines gained. The [Black Veins in Aura] tag will be added to the vampire’s profile. The vampire will automatically loose one point of humanity and make a conscience roll. If the roll fails, a second point of humanity is lost. If the roll botches, then a derangement will be gained, at the choice of the Storyteller.
Embrace
Player Character sires are not required but they are encouraged to establish family lines in the game.
Storyteller is not required to be present for an embrace scene, but Screenshots are required. Both players must confirm that it took place.
A frenzy roll at diff 8 is required.
The embraced character will receive the appropriate generation background dots for free, along with 1 dot of Kindred Lore free.
The embraced character will receive 3 points of in-clan or common disciplines free. Ghouls who are embraced will receive the 3 discipline dots as well as retain previous discipline dots earned. Ghouls may not exceed 3 points in disciplines at embrace, but future discipline expenditures can raise them. Which means a ghoul with Potence 1 can not raise Potence over 3 with the embrace discipline points.
Disciplines
Auspex can not be used to aura scan a whole room.
Dominate can not be used on someone with whom you are in active combat with.
Chimestry can be used to disguise appearance.
Obtenebration: Only 1 level can be used at any given time.
Out of clan disciplines require a teacher to learn.
Combo disciplines require a teacher to learn, after gaining appropriate levels of appropriate disciplines.
Thaumaturgy Rituals Rules
- 1. At each level of the character's Primary Thaumaturgy Path, your character gains 1 free ritual. The ritual must be approved by STs (Which means you will not always get your first choice) and be of the appropriate level or lower.
- 2. All rituals rolls must be screenshot and posted on the forum in your XP thread. Even rolls made with an ST present.
- 3. Yes, Rituals have Learning Times despite your collection of XP. These learning times have been considered fair due to the free ritual characters gain when increasing their Primary Path. Considering the listed learning times in the book ... these should be fine.
Level 1 - One Week Level 2 - Three Weeks Level 3 - Seven Weeks Level 4 - Three Months Level 5 - Six Months
- 4. All rituals are subject to ST approval under the consideration of activity of character in the game. This means if you are wanting the more obscure or dangerous rituals, then effort needs to be made to be active in the game.
