Ritual points from the appropriate background must be designated to a particular demonic ritual or rituals, though the PC need not be able to use the ritual yet; rituals may be chosen from the Player’s Guide and Houses of the Fallen.
All Houses and Factions are permitted except Earthbound, Exorcists and Raveners.

PC Thralls at Creation must be sanctioned at the same time as their patron Demon, and both backgrounds must be approved before sanction.
